Architect

David R. Mungall is an Architect and has worked with PR-TY since 1981 and was Principal and shareholder of Pye & Richards Architects Inc. since 2000. His experience encompasses both architecture and planning. He has extensive experience in a broad range of building types such as industrial, commercial, high technology, auto dealerships, community & day care centres, recreational centres, arenas, colleges and universities and primary & secondary school educational facilities. He has designed and supervised through contract documents and construction numerous school renovation projects as well as over dozen new schools for multiple School Boards in Ottawa and Eastern Ontario. 

Some of David’s more notable projects include Jim Durrell Recreational Centre (1989), Connaught Public School (1994), Cisco Buildings 1-2-3 Kanata (2000), École Montfort (2004), École de la Seigneurie, Casselman (2005), Smart Technologies Manufacturing Facilities (2007), Fedex Distribution Centre (2013), École Sainte Katerie (2014), Nouvelle école élémentaire à Riverside Sud (2019) New Residence and Kennel for Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind (2019)

David currently acts in the capacity of a senior project Architect and takes a lead role in projects from the initial client meetings through schematic and detailed design, contract documentation and construction administration. 

David graduated from Carleton University with a Bachelor of Architecture in 1977. He has been an Ontario of Architects (OAA) member since 1985 and a Fellow of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (FRAIC) since 2020. He has been an active participant on environmental Committees with the Ottawa South Community Association and the white Lake Preservation Project.
